LINEA Innovations’ Approach to Fusion Energy

Goal

Realize Power Generation through Advanced Fuel Fusion (p-11B Reaction)
Neutron-free
No radioactivation of reactor wall materials, zero discharge of low-level radioactive waste.
Tritium-free
Fuel does not contain radioactive materials.
Sustainable Fuel Supply
Abundant resources of hydrogen and boron.

Approach

“Non-thermal” Fusion Using High-Energy Beams
  • Directly drives fusion by injecting a hydrogen beam into high-density, boron-containing plasma.
  • Eliminates the need for ultra-high temperatures (hundreds of millions of degrees Celsius) as it does not rely on the self-ignition of thermal plasma.
  • Requires the coexistence of plasma and beam particles with significantly different energy levels within a defined region.

Method

The FRC-Mirror Hybrid System
  • The high-beta characteristics of FRC enable the coexistence of high-density plasma and high-energy beam particles.
  • The confinement function of the magnetic mirror enhances high-energy particle confinement and plasma stability.
  • The characteristics of open-field systems enable the design of a simple and economical fusion reactor.
