LINEA Innovations, Inc. Selected as First Japanese Company for BMW Foundation’s International Accelerator Program “RESPOND Accelerator Energy”

LINEA Innovations, Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; Representative Director & CEO: Yuta Nojiri; hereinafter “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has been selected as the first Japanese company for the global accelerator program “RESPOND Accelerator Energy,” hosted by the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt of Germany.

About the Program

RESPOND Accelerator Energy is an international impact accelerator program jointly operated by the BMW Foundation and UnternehmerTUM — one of Europe’s leading entrepreneurship centers affiliated with the Technical University of Munich (TUM). With a focus on achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the program supports startups from around the world that tackle global social challenges through innovative technology. Beyond business growth, it aims to cultivate the next generation of global companies and leaders who combine planetary regeneration with responsible leadership.

Participating companies have come from more than 19 countries, and alumni have expanded their businesses to over 120 countries worldwide. Collectively, selected companies have created approximately 1,500 jobs and raised a cumulative total of over €385 million (approximately ¥60 billion) in funding.

According to a report published by the BMW Foundation in 2025, the program has received more than 1,700 applications from around the world, with only 50 companies selected — an acceptance rate of just a few percent. The Company was selected in recognition of its business vision and technology aimed at realizing safe, clean energy that produces no neutrons (p-¹¹B fusion) — a potential solution to global-scale social challenges.

Notable alumni include the following companies leading Europe’s cleantech and deeptech sectors:

  • Hawa Dawa (Germany): Operates an AI-powered air quality management platform, and was awarded “Digital Startup of the Year” by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
  • Made of Air (Germany): Develops innovative biomaterials that capture and fix CO₂ from the atmosphere, and won the “Science Breakthrough of the Year” award.
  • Kraftblock (Germany): Develops ultra-high-temperature thermal energy storage systems capable of withstanding 1,300°C for industrial decarbonization, and secured multi-million euro investment after participating in the program.

We regard our selection alongside these companies as a sign  that the Company is increasingly gaining international recognition as a cleantech startup, not just within Japan.

Looking Ahead

Through this program, the Company will build relationships with top-tier global investor networks, major European corporations including the BMW Group, and an entrepreneurial community leading the sustainability sector. The perspectives on responsible leadership and business strategy gained here will serve as a stepping stone for entering global markets, particularly in Europe, and building international partnerships.

LINEA Innovations will continue bringing next-generation clean energy into practical use .
